If you are going to be a programmer for the first time, you really should:
  • understand OOP   
  • try to keep it simple   
  • think of something you want to program. Tic tac toe solver, anything.   
  • read documentation   
  • not program in c   drRoflol
If you are going to be a programmer you should always:
  • remember you're real people not a robot   
  • learn a new language or two each couple years - to learn some new tricks   
  • program like your the person who is going to read your code is a psychotic killer who knows where you live   
  • comment before you code   
  • be sure that programming is what you want to do - remember - it's tedious and boring at times   
  • start programming and dont stop   
  • debug your programs   
  • expect your input to be untrusted   
  • call your variables $var1, $var2, $var3 and so on.   
  • use "while(true) {" a lot.   
If you are going to be a programmer you should never:
  • believe in the matrix   
  • try to have a normal social life   
  • try to mix programming and personal life   
  • blow off your hands

  • as soon as you can compile it, you can sell it as pre-release, RC1,2,3,4, alpha, beta   
  • you will be able to customize everything or almost   
  • you can finally control your computer rather than the other way around.
